Image Center (J2000): RA 02h 46m, DEC -30° 16'

Barred spiral Seyfert galaxy in Fornax. Its blue spiral arms are dotted with star forming regions. The dwarf elliptical galaxy NGC 1097A is just above and to the right. A second irregular dwarf satellite galaxy NGC 1097B is faintly visible above and to the right of the brightest star.
